ZFBot Mobile (Beta)

Just released ZFBot Mobile in a beta version. I’ve tested it out on my Blackberry and on an IPhone. This version is flash-less and is a really cool and quick way to see what is reg’d and what’s dropping. Haven’t yet added paging so be careful what you query – you could end up blowing up your phone with a result set of 50,000 or more… depends on your phone’s memory as to what it can handle. I’ll probably page the results 1,000 records at a time.

Access it at http://www.zfbot.com/mobile on your mobile device.

.biz domains added

.biz domains have now been added to the ZFBot application.

The URS proposal needs to be shot down…

The URS proposal (or if you’re a domainer – the “U R Screwed” proposal) needs to be shot down or internet businesses and the domaining industry are going to be turned on their heads by a countless number of trademark infringement claims… in the past, those claims – if deemed unsubstantiated after review – would have little effect on the existing domain owner/internet business.  With the URS proposal, these claims – which will cost less than $300 as opposed to the several thousand that currently exists – will result in an immediate halt to any business that is being conducted on the domain in question.  It may takes weeks, months, to resolve the claim and that time could easily kill an internet business.  I’m all for trademark owners protecting their rights but this new proposal takes far too much control away from existing domain owners and makes it far too easy for complaintents to submit claims that they know are without much or any merit at all…

ZFBot Portfolio Match

The most significant update/new feature that will be rolled out shortly gives users of ZFBot the ability to register, load up their entire domain name portfolio and have the ZFBot application automatically find matches on a nightly basis. You will be able to filter on match changes over the last:

  • 24 hours
  • 7 days
  • 30 days

Or just display ALL MATCHES (will result in a VERY large result set for users with over a thousand domains and an EXTREMELY large result set if those domains are premium and short.  For example:  www.good.com would match well over 100,000 other domains on it’s own).

More detailed filters within the portfolio match view will allow you toview:

  • Matched domains with a specific match type (exact match, begins with match or ends with match)
  • Matched domains with a specific extensions (.com, .net., .org, .us, etc)
  • Matched domains with a specific change type (new match or match has dropped)
  • Matched domains with a specific drop type (dropping YES or NO)

And of course, all queries within the portfolio match view are exportable to Excel.

ZFBot Mini

I’ve developed a mini version of the main ZFBot application for those users that prefer to not have all of the “fluff” (the radio, dnjournal feed scroll, charts, etc). ZFBot mini can be accessed via a link below the main application (lower right).
